Due to my work I am visiting a couple of different conferences and events each year. Here are my evaluations for the best of them:
| Event | Description | Rating* |
| Middleware | Excellent conference on Middleware. Extremely difficult to get a paper accepted. It is worth to give a try. Small event with only one track so that you can follow all talks. | +++ |
| OOP | This conference is organized by SIGS-DATACOM. It is a commercial event, but nonetheless offers high quality. Many talks and tutorials. Each year around february a lot of attendees come to this conference on object-oriented programming in Munich. | ++++ |
| OOSPLA | Largest of all conferences on object-oriented programming, organized by ACM. Definitely a must for all OO-developers. Partially academic (papers, posters, workshops), partially commercial (tutorials). You can meet the most important persons in the field there. Takes place every autumn in North America. | +++++ |
| JAOO | Although organized by a commercial company the JAOO conference is more like a non-commercial event. It offers a great program and superb speakers. | ++++ |
| ECOOP | Could be called the European OOPSLA, but is much more academic than OOPSLA. 500+ attendees every year. Takes place in Europe around July. High quality. | +++ |
*: +++++ = excellent, ++++ = very good, +++ = good, ++ = average, + = poor
